Well, I made it into 2017 safe and sound! Hope everyone had a happy and relaxing Christmas and New Year. With it being the start of the year, it can only mean one thing, Celebrity Big Brother. You either love it or hate it, I love it! I’ve been a huge fan since the Davina McCall days, missed a couple of series for no good reason but the past few years I’ve not missed a minute! This years title is ‘All Stars and New Stars’ and the lineup looks amazing, very excited to see how it pans out.
So last night Emma Willis kicked off the live launch night, love her hair, her eyes are just out of the world, but wasn’t too keen on her blouse, no biggy though, she’s still super classy! She showed us around the newly updated house, and all I could think was ‘my eyes, my eyes’! It was super bright, super loud and crazy busy! No points from me on this one.
Onto the all important stars of the show. First out was Speidi, or Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who appeared back in 2013 and certainly caused huge waves in the house. I quite like them, they are entertaining if nothing else, they are strong and definitely rub people up the wrong way! I’m looking forward to seeing if they have still have that spark or will they change their perception? In my real life I strive to make it as drama free as possible, but when I’m watching reality shows it’s all about the drama! And as much as possible. It keeps us hooked and wanting more and these two provide it, they know the game and they know how to work it! It’s all well and good being nice, which I am, haha, but on TV it’s just boring! Who wants to see them all living in harmony and making friendship bracelets?
James Jordan, from Strictly Come Dancing and former 2014 housemate. I’m on the fence with him. I find him quite annoying and irritating, but he doesn’t take things lying down and is very opinionated. I like that! Someone who stands up for what they believe in and I think there could be some clashes between him and Speidi! He can sometimes take things too far which can be off putting, I’ll see if he changes my mind as the series progresses.
Ray J, a ‘New Star’ rapper from the US of A. I LOVE him! He had me in stitches on his VT and I hope he carries on like that and doesn’t fizzle out once he gets in the house! Another favourite of mine is Austin Armacost, seen on the show in 2015. He’s another feisty one! He said his worst nightmare would be to share the house with Speidi, but now he’s in there with them will his opinion change?
Damn my Big Brother gap years, by the sounds of it I missed a lot when Jasmine Waltz was on the show in 2014 and Nicola McLean in 2012! As for Bianca Gascoigne, what was going with her head?? Certainly made a statement that’s for sure! Coleen Nolan looked scared to death going in the house, I really felt for her! She didn’t have the best of times when she was there in 2012, but she sounds like she’s toughened up and will stand up for herself should the need arise.
There are a few I’m not familiar with and will save any opinions until I’ve seen them in action further on in the show, such as James Cosmo, from Game Of Thrones, wild DJ, Brandon Block, footballer Jamie O’Hara and Stacy Francis, who led with the line she had an argument with Whitney Houston before she died! Not the nicest claim to fame to have dear! But she’s suffering now as she was the first housemate to be ‘Edited Out’ whoops!
Last but no means least #TeamBest!! I definitely know who the gorgeous Calum Best is!! And his gorgeous mum, Angie. We are fellow animal lovers so she has my vote! The moment when Calum found out his mum was coming in too will go down in history! His face and reaction was priceless! It was mentioned that two new housemates would enter the house on Friday, I hope their identities are kept a secret as I do love a surprise! I’d quite like Stephen Bear or Perez Hilton to go in haha.
One thing I’ve noticed about this series contestants is the diverse age range. At 36, I’ve always wanted to go on Big Brother but thought I was too old, the younguns usually steal the show and the older ones normally do the cooking and cleaning and are referred to as the mum or dad of the group, but this time youngest of the group is Austin at 28, ranging to Angie and James C in their 60’s, so there’s still hope for me yet!
So there you go, my take on the new Celebrity Big Brother series and I cannot wait to see what dramas the next 4 weeks bring us! Stay tuned for more thoughts and opinions on the housemates antics.
