This event was an exciting one. I was able to get that little bit closer to event planning and PR. I donned my ear piece and clip board, like JLo in the wedding planner, and got to work! Who knew the time it takes it to promote, collect raffle prizes, organise guest lists, answer questions, co-ordinate running order and ticket money? But it was all good experience and I really enjoyed it. The occasion was for Yvette Royle and Friends to do their quarterly show at Hogan’s Of Hale and I was lucky enough to have to the opportunity to help Yvette arrange it as she normally does it on her own.
Yvette has over fifteen years experience in the industry and has performed in premier locations such as Kuala Lumpa and Morocco and headlined at Dawn Wards Creme de le Creme ball and Denise Welch’s charity ball. Upcoming performances include Miss Manchester Grand Final and Charlie’s Angels Charity event. She has experience performing at corporate events, weddings, charity balls, private events, hotels and restaurants. Yvette specialises in soul and Motown and everything in between. Once seen, she’s never forgotten!
The day of the event was finally upon us. The daytime involved last-minute preparations at the venue, with last finishing touches. We had a beautiful balloon arrangement by The Big Balloon Company and they looked stunning! Hair transformation by the fantastic Gary at Gloss and makeup by Carly B MUA, how cool was this!! They certainly know how to create miracles!
As the guests started to arrive, there was a real buzz of excitement in the air! I was in charge of the guest-list ( I really did have a clip board for this bit haha) and making sure everyone knew where they were sitting, however once the performances started everyone rushed to dance floor. You just couldn’t help it! Raffle tickets sold on the night and the generosity by everyone was so humbling! The chosen cause was local charity Children’s Adventure Farm Trust and representative, Rob, was there to collect the money and share his appreciation. We had some fantastic prizes donated from Dawn Ward, Maria Patricia, House of Che Che, Yu Alderley Edge, Strip Health Cafe and House of Finesse to name a few. Over £1400 was raised in just a few hours and a big well done and thank you to everyone who took part.
The entertainment had been outstanding from Carlo Sax, Ewan Sim and Kenny G, who accompanied the phenomenal Yvette. Everyone was dancing and singing along and having a fun-filled night. Guests included former Real Housewives of Cheshire star Magali Gorre and her footballer husband Dean. It was so great to see months of planning all come together and go like clockwork. Arrangements are in the making for Part 4 so keep your eyes peeled! You won’t want to miss it!
