This week I had the exciting opportunity to spend some time with PR company Ledigo PR. As you’ve all seen, I attend a lot of their events! To be able to get a taster of the behind the scenes work that goes into these events was my dream role! I started blogging in November 2016 after attending Liverpool Fashion Festival and meeting lots of celebrities, I met Stephanie a few weeks later and have been in awe of her ever since! With my passion for celebrities and events growing by the day, I could see why I am drawn to her. She founded Ledigo PR in 2014 and has gone from strength to strength ever since. Specialising in public relations, event planning and celebrity representation, she is able to deliver the full package to any business or person wanting to succeed.
My week started at Ledigo PR HQ in MediaCity, Manchester. It is such a beautiful setting, home of Coronation Street and the BBC, I was quite happy! Matthew was my teacher for the day, Steph’s assistant, whose main role in the company is to make sure all social media is up to date and on track. Social media is such a powerful tool in promoting businesses and spreading the word, and when used properly it has the potential to reach millions of people. I enjoyed learning about this side of their work and how it really brings everything together.
Next up was a road trip! Real Houswives Of Cheshire star Ampika Pickston was doing a meet and greet at House Of Halteres salon in Blackpool as they were stocking her shampoo and conditioner range AmpikaLox. Daytime involved gathering the products and accessories before heading off to the seaside. With time to spare, a quick stroll to the promenade was mandatory before heading back to the salon to set up for the evening event. Balloons, cupcakes and photo boards are a familiar sight and make it feel extra special. The event was super busy and a huge success and I loved being there from start to finish.
Back to Manchester and to the office for more social media. Also with us was fellow blogger Emma aka Lipstick and Trainers, super fit runner and fitness blogger. We decided to pop out for lunch and have a mooch around MediaCity. She introduced me to Wagamama, an oriental restaurant serving Asian food inspired by the flavours of Japan. As we were both eating healthy we opted for two sides- bang bang cauliflower with firecracker sauce and tori kara age, seasoned chicken served with a spiced sesame and soy sauce. Healthy = tasteless and boring? Absolutely not. I was literally eating heaven!! I had never tasted something so delicious in my entire life! Why had I never been here before? I will definitely be going back!
To finish off the week was another amazing event. This time was the launch of an after dark emporium of curious cocktails and vintage DJ’s called the Rose Rooms, an addition to the Botanist in affluent Alderley Edge. It was brimming with shabby chic and quirkiness! Celebrity guests included Emmerdale actor Anthony Quinlan, 90’s boy band 911 member Lee Brennan, and TOWIE star Abigail Clarke. A special mention to James the DJ who had everyone up dancing from start to finish! To keep that up for 4 hours was highly impressive. This was one of my favourite events as lots of my lovely friends came along too, I know some right good folk!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my sneak peek into the world of PR and event planning with Ledigo PR! It’s absolutely the route I’d like to go down when my boys are old enough! It’s hard work and very busy but also highly rewarding and enjoyable and I cannot thank Steph enough for the opportunity she gave me.
