This week saw me out and about at various events arranged by the talented Ledigo PR and events company. I was able to attend four of their events this week, so it has been a super busy but a very enjoyable time. The company was founded and run by Stephanie Ledigo in 2014, whose promise is to get your event noticed, and she certainly achieved that goal at the events I attended, and is regularly featured in the press, both locally and nationally.
The first event took me to Wythenshawe for a charity football match on a very chilly Sunday afternoon. Niall, who is the brother of comedian, Jason Manford, and his friend, Will, were raising funds for an upcoming trip to Borneo, an island in Asia, where they are planing to contribute to the local community by helping to build much needed facilities such as water pumps and toilets.
We were treated to an afternoon of 5 a side football matches and players included Jason Manford, event sponsors Neighbourhood and Steph herself also got involved with her team. My son and his friend came along as being football fans this was right up their street. I was quietly warned before we got there to be on my best behaviour and ‘‘not show them up’’! Yes, of course son, I……. Wait, is that Kyle Christie from Geordie Shore?? It really is! Well boys, you should know me by now!! Off I went!
Before the event finished I introduced myself to Jason Manford and his mum Sharon, who can regularly be seen raising money for a variety of causes, including a charity called Savebabies, which campaigns for newborn screening. They were so friendly, and it was lovely to see the whole family supporting each other.
On Monday me and Joshua- my teenage son who likes to ‘supervise’ my outings- made a flying visit to the very swanky Neighbourhood bar and restaurant in Manchester City Centre for the launch of Spectrum One hair extensions, a range of elite human hair extensions of the highest quality. I was given a preview of their range and must say they were the softest hair extensions I have touched!
I was also excited to be able to meet my sixth Housewife of Cheshire, Lauren Simon. Picture time! I had rushed to this event after an appointment with my son so I hadn’t had to time to get properly preened. I wasn’t happy with my first picture with Lauren so I went back over to her and asked for another one, this time with the butterfly Snapchat filter that covers a multitude of sins. I think she thought I was a little nuts flashing butterflies in her face, but graciously indulged me. I could see Joshua in the corner of my eye sliding down his seat in sheer embarrassment, whoops!
Tuesdays event took me to Victoria Warehouse, Trafford Park, with the lovely DJ Sarah Giggle, for the launch of I’m A Celebrity’s’ Vicky Pattison’s range of hair extensions, Hair Revolution. I was really impressed with this venue, it was very funky! Upon arrival we were treated to a glass of bubbly, and escorted to the ‘holding room’ prior to the big unveiling. As the anticipation built, I spotted Lauren Simon, here was my chance to redeem myself after yesterday’s disastrous first meet. As I walked over she laughed and called me the butterfly girl. Well at least she remembered me!
As Vicky was filming in Australia we were shown a video about her new range, where she explained she wants to help ‘every girl to feel flawless’ with great hair, before being introduced to the product in the next room. It was just like an Aladdin’s cave, hair extensions, glitter, beauty products, hair stylists, I could quite easily live here forever! As a special treat, guests were invited to try out the hair extensions and have them professionally fitted. I had never tried extensions so this would be a great chance to see if they suited me. Once I was colour matched,Creative Director Ed, from Eds Hair and Beauty Salon, fitted and blended them, I felt like a new person and I really enjoyed being pampered. The quality and feel of the extensions were fantastic and I would definitely use them again.
The evening was a great success, with an impressive attendance including stars from Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Love Island- a programme I haven’t yet watched but really need to, as well as Lauren and Tanya from Housewives and I got to add even more celebrities to my ever growing list.
The final event was the launch of an aesthetics clinic, Miss Hudson’s, in Manchester. The clinic is run and owned by Savannah Hudson, who told me she was excited at the opening of her new business. Her friend, Chloe Khan, star of Celebrity Big Brother, came to show her support, and it was great to meet them both. I was also fortunate to come across celebrity photographer Aaron Parfitt, an inspiration to all young people. He is widely respected amongst the stars and has achieved so much already. We were entertained by fire breathing dancers who wowed all the guests with their performance. Other highlights were a DJ who got guests up dancing, a tasty buffet and a cocktail bar. A fun-filled night had by all.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my week of Ledigo PR events, and learnt so much and met so many amazing, talented people. I hope you’ve all enjoyed reading about my journey so far as much as I’ve enjoyed experiencing it! Long may it continue.
