This event took me deep into the heart of the Cheshire countryside to Cheshire Polo Club in Tarporly. It was an eventful drive as me and my lovely friend soul-singer Yvette Royle tried desperately in vain to rescue a suicidal goose from the motorway embankment! Picture heels, full hair and makeup, skirt, mud and articulated lorries!! It wasn’t pretty but hopefully we talked the goose down and he went off to safer pastures!! Once that drama was over we arrived safely at the Polo Club, albeit a little disheveled, but in one piece amazingly!!
Driving up the drive we saw most amazing marquee, stunningly decorated with beautiful lights and flowers. Red carpet and fizz greeted us and we were warmly welcomed by Cheeky Chilli founder Kim Maher. Cheeky Chilli Events Company are specialists in catering and events and can help with weddings, corporate functions, celebrations, event planning, venue dressing, tea parties, pop up bars and street food catering. They invited guests to Cheshire Polo Club to showcase what they could do and put on a fantastic evening in collaboration with Make Events. Providing the technical support was Luminate Events and the floral arrangements were courtesy of Springbank Flowers. The whole room looked amazing and the pictures just do not do it justice!
Let me tell you about the food! It was out of this world, and it was clear a lot of effort had gone into planning and preparing the wide variety of dishes that were available to us. First out came mouth-watering canapes, which included my favourite mozarella, tomato and basil. For mains there was either open cooked noodles, chicken satay, or Thai curry with rice. Luckily we it was alright to sample a bit of everything as it was impossible to choose!! Each one was so full of flavour and absolutely delicious. To finish off, as if we hadn’t been spoilt enough, delicate little puddings were available for those who weren’t fit to pop.
Real Housewives of Cheshire star, Lauren Simon, attended with her new range of perfume Lauren Stone Number One, and with some her friends dressed in typical polo attire. For health and safety reasons, horses were put to bed early 😉 To entertain us there was an amazing DJ, who got everyone up dancing and was later accompanied by the amazing Richie Sax, who I have seen in action at a previous event, and Kami Percussion. They were absolutely fantastic and really made the night even more memorable.
It was such a brilliant evening, lots of laughter, amazing food and excellent entertainment. A huge well done to everyone involved in bringing this event together and making it the huge success it was.
